First, boil the pasta with a pinch of salt. We put the tomatoes on the grater. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the onion and sauté. Tested by Foodstory: Angry spaghetti with beef meatballs

A recipe for a hearty meal that can easily turn into a vegetarian if you omit meatballs.

A portion of spaghetti is never refused. We couldn't say no to such a recipe either. We chose it from the Cooking Creation website because we were inspired by the spicy angry sauce and we liked the idea that you can prepare the meatballs the day before.

It is a consistent table that can be adapted to everyone's pleasures. Meatballs can also be prepared from chicken or pork, and the sauce can be as spicy as you want, adding more or less hot peppers. And if you are a fan of vegetarian dishes, you can serve pasta only with sauce.

Ingredients (for 4 servings):

  • 450g minced beef
  • 1 or
  • 30g pesmet
  • & frac14 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 60ml olive oil
  • & frac12 finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove finely chopped garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
  • 40g red pasta
  • 400g tomatoes in their own juice
  • freshly chopped parsley
  • & frac12 teaspoon sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • 1-2 tablespoons dry white wine

Prepare the meatballs by mixing in a bowl the minced meat, egg, breadcrumbs, salt and Parmesan. Form the mixture into small, round meatballs and fry them in hot oil until golden brown.

Meanwhile, prepare the sauce. Heat the oil in a pan and cook the onion and garlic. Add the hot pepper, tomato paste, chopped tomatoes and leave on medium heat for a few minutes. Add the basil, & frac12 linguirita sugar, salt and pepper to taste and white wine.

Let them simmer, stirring occasionally. After a few minutes, add the chopped parsley. When they are ready, put them in the sauce and let them simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Boil 350-400g spaghetti al dente and mix them with the meatball sauce. Serve hot.

Verdict: It doesn't cook in 10 minutes, but it's worth the effort. Pay attention to the amount of pepper flakes you use. If you are not a fan of spicy taste, you better put half or give them up altogether. You can replace the pepper flakes with a hot pepper. We liked the Parmesan flavor we found in the hot meatballs.
